Craig Richards is first president of Film Oregon Alliance
August 2007 Along with Monterey Morrissey and Stan Roach, Craig Richards forms Film Oregon Alliance, a nonprofit trade organization to expand the film, broadcast and new media industries in Central Oregon. Craig was elected the organization's first president, Stan Roach is Vice President, Monterey Morrissey is Executive Director, Bonnie Morrissey is Secretary/Treasurer, and Patricia West-Del Ruth is Director of Cinema Arts.
Craig Richards to direct Open

Spring 2008 Craig Richards is collaborating with screenwriter Matt Pinard on the suspense/thriller Open, an adaptation of a terrific short story by Elsin Ann Perry. The film is set to star Rebecca Pinard Richards as Lilly, a young woman confronting her irrational fears amid reports of a serial killer in her neighborhood, and will feature Craig Richards as her husband Jack. Recent Sightings
Taking flight on Wings of Faith
July 2007 Craig Richards associate produced, wife Rebecca Pinard Richards was script supervisor on Gretchen Pitluk's Wings of Faith, a short dramatic film that recently wrapped principle photography and is now in post-production. Craig is also producing Taking Flight: The Making of Wings of Faith to be used for promoting the film and will be included in the DVD distribution.

MayJune 2007 The Hit Musical Comedy with Nothing to Hide

Craig Richards has just completed his run as male exotic dancer Buddy "Keno" Walsh in 2nd Street Theater's production of The Full Monty directed by Maralyn Thoma and Steve Dougherty.
Synopsis: Six down-on-their-luck steelworkers from Buffalo, NY whose plan to get their lives back requires them to triumph over their fears, their nerves and their clothes. This ten-time Tony Award nominee is a musical that bares its soul to reveal its heart.
If you're familiar with the broadway production (Keno is not in the British film version), you'll know that Keno is the professional Chippendales-type dancer that inspires Jerry and his friends to help solve their money troubles by becoming male exotic dancers. Richards keeps the peace in Man Maid
January 2007 Writer/Director Chris Lusvardi cast Craig Richards in the role of (what else?) the State Trooper in the comedy feature film Man Maid which was shot throughout central Oregon. To view a short behind-the-scenes clip, click here. Though we shot it in July and August, 2006, this film remains listed in post-production and no release date has yet been announced.
Craig Richards Directs Again
December 2006 Craig Richards was privileged to team up with Maralyn Thoma to co-direct 2nd Street Theater's production of the outrageous two-act comedy Greater Tuna written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard. The talented cast included Cricket Daniel, Holly Groves, Melinda Jahn, Sandy Klein, Brian Johnson, Paul Koelling, Gabriel Matthias, Nathan Neet and Brad Ruder.

Arsenic and Old Lace
December 2004 Craig Richards starred as the sinister Jonathan Brewster in the macabre comedy Arsenic and Old Lace written by Joseph Kesselring and directed by Georgia Phillips. This classic tale is about two charming sisters who populate their cellar with the bodies of lonely old men whom they have "helped find peace" and the antics of their nephews Teddy (who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt), Mortimer (the newly-engaged theatre critic) and Jonathan, the mad killer who is often mistaken for Boris Karloff. Arsenic and Old Lace was performed live at Bend, Oregon's famous 2nd Street Theater from December 2 through December 18.
The Rocky Horror Show
October 2004 Craig Richards performed the role of the Narrator in Richard O'Brien's outrageous live musical comedy classic The Rocky Horror Show directed by Steve and Maralyn Dougherty at Bend, Oregon's historic Tower Theatre.

Punk Love
April 2004 Watch for Craig Richards as Deputy Sheriff Jones in award-winning writer/director Nick Lyon's dark drama Punk Love which was shot in and around Portland, Oregon. This independent feature film produced by Blondie Productions is scheduled for a Winter 2005 release... After shooting Craig's scenes, we received the following email from the film's director:

Stepping Out
April/May 2004 Craig Richards performed the unlikely role of shy and awkward Geoffrey, in 2nd Street Theater's production of the live comedy Stepping Out written by Richard Harris, co-directed by Maralyn Thoma Dougherty & Mary Kilpatrick, assistant directed by Rebecca Pinard Richards and choreographed by Michelle Mejaski. Stepping Out opened to sold-out audiences through May 22.
The Hardy Boys and the Mystery of Where Babies Come From
January 28, 2004 Craig Richards reprised his role as Coach Hardy in the short spoof The Hardy Boys and the Mystery of Where Babies Come From by Christopher Durang performed live as part of the newly renovated landmark Tower Theater's weeklong Grand Reopening Gala. This zany comedy, directed by Susan Benson, also includes Thor Erickson, Thomas Tsuneta and Rachel Deegan in the talented ensemble cast.
Off The Rack
October/November 2003 The snappy one-act comedy Off The Rack by Robert D. Kemnitz and Jennifer McMaster marks Craig Richards' return to the director's chair. The play starred Rebecca Pinard Richards and Kitty Peterson, and was performed live at Bend, Oregon's famous 2nd Street Theater.

Surrender
2003 Produced by Women Warriors, the award-winning romantic fantasy Surrender [ watch the movie ] stars Craig Richards as T. Griffin Sanders, a successful high-stakes real estate developer willing to risk everything but his heart until, during an unexpected delay in his otherwise manic schedule, he finds himself in a wide-awake daydream in which his conscience guide shows him what is possible if only he would surrender to love. The eight-minute short film, directed by Tammy Sanderson, also features Rebecca Pinard Richards, Jason Graham, Lillian McNeill and Bob Doyle. Surrender was an award-winning entry in the National Film Challenge and is also being prepared for exhibition at various film festivals around the world... Light Up The Sky

May/June 2003 Craig Richards starred as business tycoon-turned-Broadway producer Sidney Black in Moss Hart's 1940s period comedy Light Up The Sky which was directed by Georgia Phillips and assistant directed by Rebecca Pinard Richards. Performed live at Bend, Oregon's famous 2nd Street Theater.

Final Reunion
April/May 2003 Craig Richards earned critical acclaim for his live performance as Congressman William Cheyney in the tense original drama Final Reunion which was written by Nicco Montefeltro and directed by Steve Dougherty. The ensemble cast also included Clifford Vance, Doug Ertner and Jon Plueard.

October/November 2002 Craig appeared in 2nd Street Theater's Short Stuff 2002 live variety presentation where he performed in three of the short plays as the memorable Secret Service Agent Parker in the comedy Making the Call, as Dick Mason in the comedy Down, Please. Please! and as Coach Hardy in the spoof The Hardy Boys and the Mystery of Where Babies Come From written by Christopher Durang.

The Micronots!
Craig Richards starred as Captain Giles Slate in The Micronots! sometimes described as Star Trek meets Gilligan's Island! Creators Jackson Harvey and Diana Karanikas developed and produced three pilot episodes of the sci-fi spoof for distribution to network excutives in hopes of being picked up. However like the majority of series projects, this one did not get beyond the pilot stage; though it developed a huge fan base in and around Los Angeles where the pilot episodes eventually aired. An exciting new website is currently being created at www.micronots.com where fans will be able to view production stills, video clips and background information on the outrageously funny storyline, the talented cast and their much-loved characters.

The Majestic (Castle Rock Entertainment / Darkwoods Productions)
Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) directed this romantic drama set in 1951 and stars Jim Carrey, Bob Balaban, Martin Landau, Allen Garfield, Laurie Holden, Bruce Campbell, Amanda Detmer among others. Toward the beginning of the film, Hollywood writer Peter Appleton's (Jim Carrey) name is mentioned during the infamous McCarthy Hearings so he is immediately dismissed from his dream job and tough Studio Guard (Craig Richards) is dispatched to escort Appleton off the film studio property. After a car accident that same evening in which he loses his memory, Peter Appleton settles down in a small town where he is mistaken for a long-lost son. Watch for Craig Richards who also appears in HBO First Look The Majestic.

Rat Race (Alphaville Films / Paramount Pictures)
Director Jerry Zucker cast Craig as no-nonsense State Trooper Rossi who pulls over Jon Lovitz's character in Rat Race. Featuring an all-star cast including Brecklin Meyer, Amy Smart, Whoopi Goldberg, Lanei Chapman, Rowan Atkinson, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Jon Lovitz, Kathy Najimy, John Cleese, Dave Thomas, Paul Rodriguez, Seth Green, Dean Cain, Kathy Bates and Wayne Knight among many others, Rat Race is often described as a remake of the zany 1963 film It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

The Jersey "Bringing The Heat" episode #3.1 (The Disney Channel)
An original live-action children's television series airing on The Disney Channel on Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in most markets. The episode in which Craig appears guest stars pro baseball pitcher David Wells and Craig's friend veteran film and television actor Skip O'Brien you probably recognize Skip from his recurring role as Sgt. O'Riley in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In this episode of The Jersey, Craig and Skip were cast as the Coaches of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Craig Richards and Chris Kattan on the set of Corky Romano: "Special" Agent. In this scene, Corky (Chris Kattan) is the envy of fellow FBI Agent (Craig Richards) when he receives orders to infiltrate his own family as a key part of an organized crime investigation.

This surprise hit comedy stars Chris Kattan (of Saturday Night Live and A Night At The Roxbury fame) as a "loser son of a Mafia honcho that must go undercover for the FBI." Also stars Vinessa Shaw, Peter Falk, Peter Berg, Richard Roundtree, Matthew Glave, Roger Fan, Dave Sheridan, and Jennifer Gimenez among others.
History-Making Performer!


Craig Richards is now listed in the 2001 and 2002 editions of The World Almanac: Entertainment Personalities of the Present. A Synopsis of Craig Richards' Acting Career
Throughout Craig's career as an actor, he's been privileged to work with some of the greatest folks in the business in a number of theatrical, film and television projects. Following is a synopsis of Mr. Richards' credits in his own words:
The '70s and '80s
I began acting in theatre in 1976, cast as the Assistant Hotel Manager in the Garson Kanin play Born Yesterday and, over subsequent years, landed the lead roles in Woody Allen's Play It Again, Sam (I earned the 'best supporting actor' award for my performance as Bogey), Laura, Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park, The Silver Whistle, The Impossible Years and Finishing Touches among others, not to mention my directorial debut on Heaven Can Wait.
I got some breaks in TV, too, with performances in popular shows of the day including Dynasty, The Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazzard, Harper Valley PTA and Fantasy Island, and the feature films Pray TV (John Ritter and Ned Beatty), Bustin' Loose (Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder) and Buddy, Buddy (Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau), among others.
The '90s
My work in television series throughout the early 1990s included Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (Swede), Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, NYPD Blue, Murphy Brown, The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr., L.A. Law, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Pickett Fences, Sisters (George Clooney's partner) and a movie of the week: Marilyn and Bobby: Her Final Affair (Secret Service Agent). I also starred as Captain Giles Slate in the comedy series The Micronots! a high-energy spoof of the sci-fi / space adventure genre.
During that era, I also appeared in many feature films including The Flintstones (John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Elizabeth Perkins and Rosie O'Donnell), Naked Gun 33-1/3: The Final Insult (Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley), When A Man Loves A Woman (Meg Ryan, Andy Garcia and Tina Majorino), On Deadly Ground (Steven Seagal and Michael Caine), My Girl II (Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis and Anna Chlumsky) and Wayne's World II (Mike Myers, Dana Carvey and Kim Basinger).
