Debug CGI and Manage Remote Files
From Your Web Browser?
Web designers, programmers and developers especially those in a multiplatform environment juggle many desktop applications every few seconds while in production. The frenetic switching back and forth of software is necessary because there has been no single tool that can perform the routine tasks associated with local production for a remote server.
Between your text editor, FTP software, Telnet, web browser and other necessary tools of the trade, there is one that is usually open the entire time but doesn't do any of the actual production: your web browser.
What if, from within any web browser, you could point and click to test your CGI scripts plus upload, open, edit, save, download and perform other remote file-management functions? Craig Richards has just released version 2.0 of AdminPro - it will instantly transform your browser from a passive viewer into a hardworking production tool!
With AdminPro v. 2.0 on your server, your browser performs tasks that exceed those of any other single tool with intuitive point-and-click simplicity.
"If you've written more than a line or two of Perl, you know you're going to have bugs it's part of the human equation. But I was spending more time trying to figure out where my errors were than I was actually writing code!" confesses Craig Richards, "So I wrote a script in Perl that streamlined my development cycle significantly and began sharing that debugging tool (originally called TestMy.CGI) with others.
Mr. Richards adds, "Based on user feedback, I've built more and more features into it and, now, there are more than 70,000 folks around the world who have made my tools an essential part of their production arsenal."
The chart below compares a more traditional development cycle with the shortcuts afforded to users of AdminPro:

As indicated, all the routine tasks in the development, production and maintenance cycle can be performed within your favorite web browser and AdminPro a great solution for those with limited RAM not to mention limited time!
AdminPro 2.0 Features
Version 2.0 of this server application boasts the full suite of expected FTP functions such as file upload, download, delete, chmod (Unix & Linux) and directory creation and deletion plus an unexpected function lets you open, edit and save remote files. The interface also reports each file's name, file size, modification date/time and permissions. Point-and-click CGI debugging round out the features set all from within a standard web browser.

AdminPro permits user navigation throughout the server. AdminPro runs on the Mac OS X Server as well as Unix, Linux and Windows NT/2K and is designed to function in server environments that employ directory/file aliasing or symbolic links and CGIWrap technologies that can otherwise make browser-based file management and CGI testing impossible. screenshot
AdminPro has a clean, well-organized and compact interface and may be invoked from any remote platform, any operating system and any current browser perfect for a multiplatform environment. They have already become essential tools for more than 70,000 website developers and designers, CGI programmers and site administrators worldwide.
Designer/developer Craig Richards has made this and other tools publicly available for free download by going to http://www.CraigRichards.com/software/. Users who like and continue to use AdminPro after the 10-day trial are encouraged to register and pay a nominal US$20 shareware fee which entitles them to unlimited email technical support, notification of new releases and free updates for life. See website for details.
