Growing Up and Volkswagens... (05/10/1998)

Where has all the time gone? The last time I added anything to this page was almost a year ago... now that I'm five, my life just keeps getting busier and busier.

I used to have a background on this page of cute little rubber ducks. That was good for when I was little, but I talked to my dad about changing my background pattern to something that's good for a big kid – you know, something like trucks or superheroes or Volkswagens. So my Daddy just changed it to my favorite – Volkswagens!

I'm gonna graduate from preschool in a couple of months; then, it's off to the even bigger kids' school – kindergarten! As you can tell, I'm excited about it, too. Dad keeps talking about how much stuff I'll learn, but I hear they have even cooler toys!

My birthday was in the beginning of April. It was rainy the day we were supposed to go to Universal Studios so, instead, we went to the Museum of Natural History. They had lots of stuff that was interesting for grownups; but downstairs they also have a cool bunch of DINOSAURS. They're cool because they move. But they're not real so I wasn't scared as much.

Then on Sunday, we went to our family reunion at Great Aunt Grace and Great Uncle Terry's house, where there's a whole bunch of cousins and grownups. I always have the most fun there on account of I always find the most Easter eggs! I even let some of the grownups help me find 'em, 'cause I like to share finding them. I think Easter eggs are SO much fun because there's CANDY inside! (Dad says there are eggs inside, but I think he's wrong!)

The next weekend, Dad took me to Jurassic Park (Universal Studios). The dinosaurs are NOT real there, either. I got to see King Kong (HE's not real, either) and we had an earthquake and nobody got hurt.

It seems like the bigger I get, the more stuff I can do. I can do arithmetic which is adding and subtracting; I can count to over a hundred then I forget what comes after; I can read words now... lots of things. I've been working on my drawing with pens, crayons, pencils, markers, and paint. Maybe I'll draw a picture and put it up here next time. Five is going to be a great year, alright!

I'm a really busy guy now, so I gotta go do something else. I'm going to try to let you know what other stuff is going on whenever I get the chance...
