Other Places That I Like... (1995)

I like to ride the train to Santa Barbara... Here I am waiting for the train to pick us up.

In this picture, I'm in front of the dolphin fountain at the entrance to Sterns Wharf in Santa Barbara.

This is a picture of my Mommie and me. Look at my engineer overalls for conducting and workin' on train engines and stuff.

I went on a lot of train trips so far. The very first one was with my Papa to Santa Barbara in the early summer of 1995. We played on the beach and ate dinner. Then we got to come back on the train too!

The second train trip was with my Mama to Orange County in November 1995 for a Thanksgiving feast at a beautiful park. It's kind of a family reunion and there's lots of kids, toys, and games to play. There was even PIE!

My third train trip was back to Santa Barbara with my Papa in early January of 1996. We had even MORE fun 'cause I was a much bigger boy now. I saw people fishing and a lot of people walking. I had dinner with my Papa at a fancy restaurant, but I really wanted to play on the beach and in the water. Papa said the weather was too cold and we didn't have enough time. What's time?

In the end of February 1996, my Papa and I drove to Santa Barbara on a Saturday and we got to stay in a hotel. We didn't play on the beach, but we walked a lot. We rode a bicycle with FOUR wheels, a seat that looked like a sofa, and a big basket in front where I sat for a while with my seatbelt on. My job was to ring the bell when we saw people so we wouldn't run over them. After a while though, Daddy finally let me sit next to him on the sofa and I helped him drive by hanging onto the handlebars!

Since that time in February, I took Papa on the train to Santa Barbara a bunch more times.
