School Pictures and Halloween Candy... (11/13/1998)

Well, I'm in kindergarten now. I started in September. I've made lots of new friends so far and am learning lots of important stuff. Like songs.

I don't want to brag or anything, but I can spell all the colors in my crayon box. Well, most of 'em. My teacher is teaching us real funny counting songs that I like to sing. Want to know something cool? When I sing loud enough in the shower, I can hear an echo!

I like reading all the signs along the roads when we're in the car. It's fun 'cause every time I spell a word right, my Dad yells out, "That is correct! You are the winner! Ding ding ding ding!" just like it was a TV gameshow or something. That really makes me laugh, so I try to get all the words right.

So, anyway, all us kids got our pictures taken at my new school and last week, we got 'em back. I wanted to show you my new school picture of how I look when I'm really big.

Oh, yeah! I almost forgot to talk about Halloween... You'll never guess what I was. You're right! I was a "Power Ranger!" Except my Dad said I had to be a nice Power Ranger and I could not kick or hit anyone. Even if they are bad guys. I got a WHOLE bunch of candy. My Mom says I get to have a piece for dessert when I eat all my dinner.

When we got home from trick-or-treating, I asked my Dad if I could count all my candy. That way, I'll know how much I have, right? My Dad helped me count "by tens" which is really easy. I got 86 pieces of candy! I said I'm gonna have dessert FOREVER!! – Ding ding ding ding!

Dad said that it won't last very long and that Halloween candy is just a special time for treats. Right. Whatever.
