We hope you have a new year you can really sink your teeth into! Tooth Be Told... (12/28/2000)

alternate title number one:
The Tooth? You Want the Tooth?
You Can't Handle the Tooth!

or a Shakespearean permutation:
Tooth Be? Or Not Tooth Be? That Is Impaction

It started to feel a little bit wiggly. Then it felt a lot of wabbly.

The next thing I know, my front tooth was hanging on kinda crooked-wise. My dad put it under my pillow because the tooth fairy comes by and picks it up for recycling into new teeth for babies. She also leaves me some money!

I'm seven-and-a-half years old now and I feel pretty good about losing my teeth because that means I'm getting even more grown up.

I'm so glad we finally had Christmas – That's my favorite part of winter (probably because I was named after Saint Nicholas). I got a bunch of clothes, books and toys. Clothes are fine, but I like books and toys the best!

Altered States
Mrs. Sippy gave Ms. Zouri a new jersey. What could Della wear? I don't know – but I'll ask her.

Did you spy the states hidden in the boldfaced text above?
(Answer: Mississipi, Missouri, New Jersey, Delaware and Alaska!)

In April 1999, my dad took some pictures of Mom and me in our back yard. We were wearing special clothes from China that we got when we were in San Francisco during our Christmas holiday trip in 1997.

Believe it or not, I usually like to be sillier than my mom likes to be. I was thinking this could be a picture of both of us being upside-down. But Mom only wanted to go just a little sideways.

"HEY, MOM! YOU'RE ON MY TOE!" – I'm just kidding. Besides being a silly kid, I like to be loud sometimes, too. I can make some very interesting sounds with my mouth, but I think they sound the best when I make those sounds as loud as I can. aaaaAAAAGGGGHHHH! How was that? If you thought that sounded just like a T-Rex, you're right!

Here's my mom and me having a snuggle.
