BigSender Administrator Guide
BigSender Snapshot plug-in
BigSender Snapshot is a simple-to-use plug-in for BigSender that adds a "save snapshot" button at the bottom of your Composer page and an index of previously-saved BigSender Snapshots to the top of your Message Composer interface.
The BigSender Snapshot plug-in document (bs-snapshot.txt) is automatically bundled in your BigSender zip archive when you purchase it or download a new release of BigSender.
Using BigSender Snapshot
Upload the BigSender Snapshot plug-in (bs-snaptshot.txt) into the same directory as your licensed installation of BigSender and it will be immediately incorporated into the BigSender Message Composer interfaces. Use AdminPro or other FTP software to change file permissions to 755 if BigSender fails to recognize the Snapshot plug-in.
All BigSender Gateway installations will also automatically recognize the Snapshot plug-in.
Saving a BigSender Snapshot
With the BigSender Snapshot plug-in, you can click once on the "save snapshot" button inserted at the bottom of your BigSender Message Composer page and a "picture" of your Message Composer interface's current state is taken including all text and checkbox options.
You can build an entire library of BigSender Snapshots as starting points or templates for often-used messages such as announcements, notices, newsletters or e-zines, etc.
Loading a BigSender Snapshot
Previously-saved BigSender Snapshots are automatically listed in the BigSender Snapshot index (sorted by date with the most recent at the top) and may be loaded any time. After loading a Snapshot, you may make any changes you like and optionally save the modified version before broadcasting your message.
Deleting a BigSender Snapshot
Any previously-saved BigSender Snapshots that appear in the index at the top of the Message Composer page may be deleted from your server by clicking the "delete" checkboxes on the same line as the document you no longer want then click the "snapshot action" button beneath that Snapshot table.
BigSender Snapshots have specially encoded filenames recognized by BigSender and stored in the "message archive" directory you defined in your Configurator settings.
If you manually delete any Snapshot documents via Telnet or FTP, the index will no longer include them.
Alert: Be sure that you are either finished with any composition in your current BigSender Composer page or that you have saved it. When you delete a Snapshot, the resulting Message Composer page begins with the default settings and you may not be able to return to your composition.
Setting a Default BigSender Snapshot
Any BigSender Snapshot appearing in the Snapshot Table may be set as the "default" or starting message that is automatically loaded into the Message Composer whenever you click the "compose" button.
To set a default Snapshot, click on the "set default" radio button to the right of the appropriate Snapshot and click the "snapshot action" button. That Snapshot is duplicated and set as the new default and your Message Composer interface is returned to you in your web browser.
You may also manually load or delete your default Snapshot as with any other Snapshot by clicking on the "load" or "delete" radio button and clicking the "snapshot action" button.
