BigSender Administrator Guide
BigSender Contact Manager Tools
Accessing the BigSender Contact Manager begins with the "search" field and "find" button which are available to a logged-in administrator with "list edit" privileges near the top of the Main Menu's Subscriber Form.

Searching or Browsing Your List
Once you have logged in as a BigSender administrator, click on the "search" field and type part of a word, word or phrase (criteria) and click the "find" button.
To browse through all your records, simply leave the "search" field empty and click the "find" button.
You may also perform OR boolean searches on your list for matching any of multiple criteria by separating them with a space, the word OR and another space. Alternately, you may perform AND boolean searches on your list for all of multiple criteria by separating them with a space, the word AND and another space.
For example, to search for records containing either aol.com OR msn.com, type:
aol.com OR msn.com
To search for records containing aol.com AND msn.com, type:
aol.com AND msn.com
To further refine your search only to a field (rather than the whole record) that contains your criteria, type the field name,a colon (:) and your word or phrase.
For example, to search your records for an email address field that contains aol.com, type:
email:aol.com
To search your records for an email address field that contains aol.com OR msn, type:
email:aol.com OR email:msn.com
Of course, you may also mix fields in your criteria. For example, to find all records with an email address field that contains aol.com that also have the Mike in the name field, type:
email:aol.com AND name:mike

The resulting report indicates the quantity of records in your list that contain your search criteria. In each line of that report, there is an "edit" button, a "delete" checkbox (used in conjunction with the "delete checked records" button at the bottom of that report), the record's email address (with a "mailto" link to optionally send a quick email only to that recipient via your desktop email software), a red "flag" indicating if that record is marked unsubscribed, ban, bounced or fraud, the recipient's name in that record (if available), a "details" link so you can view and/or print out the entire record for any recipient, and a "target" checkbox (used in conjunction with the "compose" button at the bottom of that report).
When you click on the "details" link associated with any record, the email address has a "mailto" link (to optionally send a quick email only to that recipient via your desktop email software). If that record has data in a special "ICQ" Custom Field type, their ICQ number will have a special link that, when clicked, automatically initiates an ICQ message session. An online status indicator also lets you know if their ICQ software is turned on. If that record has data in a special "annotations" Custom Field Type, the contact history as recorded by a logged-in administrator is also displayed.
If there are more records in your list containing your search criteria that you have permitted in your "maximum records per page" Configurator setting, your search results are divided into subsequent pages which may be accessed by clicking on the "next matches" link.
Editing a Record in Your List
To modify the information in a recipient's record, click on the "edit" button associated with the record you would like to modify. The information in that record is returned to you in the resulting subscriber form so you can change it as desired.
When editing that record, you will be able to "mark" that record as valid (default) ban, bounced or fraud as desired.
If you have set a special "annotations" Custom Field type in the BigSender Configurator, you'll also be able to view that record's contact history as previously noted by a logged-in administrator and also append it with a new note that is automatically preceded with the timestamp and the administrator's username.
To save your changes, click the "modify" button.
Removing Records From Your List
To remove a record from your list (or mark it as unsubscribed if you do not have the "permanently remove records" checkbox check in your Configurator settings), check the box(es) associated with the records you'd like to remove then click the "delete checked records" button. The resulting page will list the records that were removed.
Viewing and/or Printing a Record
In any search or browse result page, click on the "details" link to generate a Smart Spring Popup Helper that will format and display the name, email address, label and all Custom Fields in that record.
Targeting Records for a Broadcast Session
In any search or browse result page, click the checkbox(es) in the "target" column then the "compose" button (at the bottom of that page) and those checked records will be targeted (only those will receive your message) in your subsequent Broadcast Session.
