Setting the Owner/Administrator Login Method

The BigSender owner/administrator may choose one of two methods for managing access to its administrator controls: static IP Address or username:password login method.

The access method is set in the Configurator and may be changed from one method to the other any time.

If you have selected the username:password access method, you may login and logout as an administrator any time from any computer.

To login in as the administrator is simple – just type the username and password you set in the Configurator, separated by a colon [ : ] (no spaces), into the email field in the user interface (with the subscription form).

Once validated against the username and password provided in your Configurator settings, a cookie is sent to your browser identifying you as the administrator and, until logout or when that cookie expires, BigSender's administrator controls will be available to you in the main menu / user interface.

Write down your login username and password and store in a secure place. If you forget your username or password and cannot login as the administrator, you will not be able to access BigSender's administrative controls. If you cannot login, please contact customer support at Craig Richards Design and we can help you regain access to your administrator controls.

To logout as the administrator, click on the "logout" link or type logout into the email field in the main menu/subscriber form. A logout confirmation page will be returned to you and, from that point forward (until you login again), you will be in "user" mode whenever you invoke BigSender.

Note that "add" and "remove" functions that might normally result in an activator request, a confirmation and an admin notification email are suspended when performed by the logged-in administrator. If you want those action-triggered emails to be sent, first logout then perform those tasks.

If you have chosen the static IP Address access method, you cannot login nor can you logout as BigSender will automatically recognize you as the administrator any time you invoke the application from the computer matching that IP Address.

To use IP Address security, you must have a "static IP Address" which does not change at any time. Neither you nor anyone else will be able to access BigSender's administrative controls from a computer that is not assigned the IP Address or for whom you have not added an administrator account in the BigSender Configurator.
